I am a sucker for educational toys, games and videos, if kids are going to watch television it should be teaching them something right? I was recently introduced to the cutest show called Super WHY, it is a great series of stories designed to help kids learn the fundamentals of reading through interactive storybook adventures. Calling All Super Readers, It’s time for another adventure!
We were able to review the recently released Super Why: Around the World Adventure DVD and Tates immediately fell in love with the wonderful characters featured in the three entertaining reading adventures-Around the World Adventure, Naila and the Magic Map, and Jasper’s Cowboy Wish. First let’s meet the characters:
Super Why (Whyatt) - with the Power to Read
Alpha Pig - with Alphabet Power
Princess Presto - with Spelling Power
Wonder Red - with Word Power
Woofster - with Dictionary Power
Super You - with the Power to Help (The home viewer transforms into a super hero too - Super You!) Super Tates in our house!
In this DVD you and your child get to encounter three fun adventures:
Around the World Adventure - with the help of their teacher, Whyatt and his friends have contacted a girl from another school over the computer, but they wonder where she lives. The super readers take a trip around the world with a wacky explorer named Wigglebottom who is on the hunt for his friend Sophie. Will they be able to help Wigglebottom find his friend, or will they be destined to travel the globe indefinitely?
Naila and the Magic Map - Pig and his friends are playing when they find what looks like an Egyptian treasure map, but they can’t make out the symbols! To search for some answers, the super readers soar into the book Naila and the Magic Map and explore the workd of ancient Egypt. Will they be able to help unravel the mysterious code that will unlock where the treasure lies?
Jasper’s Cowboy Wish - Howdy partner! Whyatt and his friends are playing cowboys, but Pig can’t join in because he doesn’t know what cowboys do. The super readers jump into the tale of Jasper’s Cowboy Wish and make the acquaintance of a cowpoke who’s desperate to become a rompin’ stompin’ cowboy, if he could only get the hang of it! When Jasper must use his cowboy skills to save the day, will he be a hero….or will this be his last roundup?
This DVD has some other wonderful things to offer your child besides the video itself! Interactive games, music videos and printable activities and coloring pages are included as well as resources for parents. We are really loving the coloring creations Tates is coming up with
