Dishes Set from Educational Insights

I have talked before about how important toys that are both fun and educational are to our family.  With Tates having some speech delays along with other concerns I have really started to understand just how helpful teaching through play really is and Educational Insights has been an invaluable tool in my teaching arsenal.
Tates is constantly wanting to play with my kitchen stuff so when my mom got him a little play kitchen I was really excited to see how he liked it and Educational Insights was nice enough to send us one of their Dish Sets to review.  I know what you are thinking, how are play dishes educational?  Well these are the next step in play for Tates in regards to developmental play.  The type of play where babies do with their toys what they do (go night night, eat, give a bath) so having this wonderful little set just makes me beam as a proud mommy when Tates uses it.
When we got the set Tates immediately fell in love with it (he loves getting mail and boxes!).  He ripped the box open quicker than I could get scissors.  “ooohhhh” he said and started using his brightly colored utensils to eat his imaginary food and pour something to drink from his teapot for himself and me too.

He is so cute with how specific he is with his playing, each cup must go with it’s correct color saucer and each plate gets the coordinating utensils.  If you try to mix it up he says “No!” and gives you the correct color!

He doesn’t see much of a use for the teapot lid, it spends most of the time on the sidelines as he likes to use the teapot for filling up drinks and as a pot for cooking and scooping our imaginary food.

The complete set includes plates, saucers, cups and utensils for 4, plus a teapot (25 plastic pieces total in 4 colors) perfectly sized for little hands to play with yet not too small for moms and dads to join in the fun.

You can purchase this award winning (2003 Canadian Toy Testing Council 3 Star Seal and 2004 Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Gold Seal Award) and super fun play set for your little one right from the Educational Insights website, I would love to add the Pots ‘n Pans set to round out our play kitchen!
