This week to get started we are talking food, snacks to be precise! I know as a busy mom and wife I get sidetracked and forget to eat until late afternoon sometimes which is definitely not a good thing. One of my goals is to make sure there are always some quick and easy snacks in the kitchen for not only myself but my entire family. For me the quicker preparation time the better and I don’t want to fall into bad habits (candy/chips) so I need variety too. I love salty and sweet so I have to have both covered and readily available so here are some ideas I came up with:
- yogurt (flavored or add your own fruit and granola)
- baked chips (100 calorie portions pre made up from a larger family size bag)
- cheese and deli meat wrapped in lettuce (dark leaf)
- fresh fruit
- frozen fruit bars
- applesauce
- Special K bars
- nuts (watch the salt/flavorings)
- fresh veggies
